Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution

March 17, 2010 Family, Kids

Jamie Oliver from Food TV is now on a noble mission to revolutionize the way American's eat, starting with our school system. He's going into Huntington, W.V. which currently the unhealthiest city in America (per a government statistic based on DEATH).  Per Jamie, "this is the first generation expected to live a shorter life than their parents."

Check out a preview of the show premiering March 26th:

I'm so happy to see this show coming, because I know how difficult it can be to get kids to eat healthy.  This is a huge undertaking, and he is definitely going to meet some tough resistance. However I'm confident this is the beginning of a shift towards a greater number of people realizing the direct impact that food has on health, performance, and longevity, and being inspired to live healthy.

You can support Jamie's food revolution by signing the petition.

If you feel inspired by Jamie’s campaign, he has created an online petition, promoting healthy food for children, that he will present to the White House. You can find the petition here:

Go Jamie!…..Can I put in a request for a blog? I’ve been eating out a lot lately due to time constraints. I’m also on the go!Working 3 jobs is getting tough for me on top of training. Can we have a post on some Paleo friendly resturants around the area and some suggestions on what to order? Maybe others can post abour their ideas/suggestions from their experiences? It’s hard being Paleo on the go when you can’t prepare your food, ahead of time, thanks!

Smita, that’s actually a good idea!
I have to daughters and I’m always on the go! I work full time, picking up and dropping off the kids to school and to their activities, taking care of my disabled Dad, plus I have an active dog on top of training is tough & time consuming. I usually end up eating Protein Wrap Double Burger no cheese/no spread from In-n-Out Burger or Carl’s Jr. Maybe salads from McDonalds. El Pollo Loco Chicken. I do get sick and tired of eating the same stuff.
    Any suggestions?
