Hello soul sister. Thank you for being here. For arriving at this place in your life where you are ready. Ready to share a story that only YOU can share.
Your story is a powerful. It is unique. It is yours experientially. It is ours collectively.
As women we thrive in sisterhood. When we shed the layers of ego, open our hearts, and share our journey we realize we are in it together. As you heal. We heal. (I)llness happens when we isolate, seperate, and segregate the individual.
Together we build culture of wellbeing for all women. Thank you for being here to share your story, your wisdom, your words.
What do I write about?
Please share your personal wellbeing expertise and experience. Remember you are speaking to another woman of culture like you, she has a problem she wants to solve, one that you figured out, often times the hard way, through experience. Make sure you offer your wisdom and solution to a problem that your encountered and solved.
Some possible topics may include:
- Motherhood
- Wellness for women over 40
- Weightloss journey
- Yoga expertise
- Ayurveda expertise
- Mental Health
- Mindfulness
- Stress management
- Food recipes
- Healing foods
If you are unsure how your story will fit into this space. Write it anyway, trust me someone out there will need to hear it.
How long should my article be?
Your story length will vary based on your topic. All articles are edited by me, so don’t worry so much about the length. If it’s too long we can split it into two articles.
Below are some general guidelines based on word count.
- 750 words. This is the standard length for professional journalism, especially newspapers. Short and sweet articles are great if you want to share quick tips, lists, or timely article.
- 1000-1500 words. At this length you can really get into your story, and write a post that actually solves someone’s problem.
- 1,500 – 2,450 words. This is the best length to write, it gives plenty of space to build your story. However, make sure you write about a topic that you have been asked about frequently or find yourself talking about a lot. Chances are other women are searching for this same topic.
Should I include a photo?
You definitely want to include 3-6 photos that capture the essence of your story. Photos also help to break up the text creating a better reading experience. Please use unsplash.com to select the photos you’d like to use and send them to me in the order you’d like them placed. If you have specific photos for specific sections, note that. If you’d rather not select photos, no worries, I will do it for you.
When in doubt just start writing. Write a few questions you often get asked:
- How did you lose 15 lbs, what’s your secret?
- How do you keep it all together with 2 kids and a crazy work schedule?
- How do you stay so calm?
- What are your favorite cake recipes?
- What was a traditional food your family prepared during childhood?
- How did you get out of that abusive relationship?
- Why didn’t you get married?
- Was it difficult to have kids naturally?
The list goes on and on. The most important thing is be authentic. Share YOUR truth. It doesn’t have to be pretty or perfect. It needs to be messy and magical… Just like you!
If you have questions or want to brainstorm, shoot me an email or text message.
